I split my time between the East & West Coasts, but my heart is home doing this work that empowers all parents and families to thrive. It is possible to “have the buck stop here” and to change what is not working for you. You can raise your children with heart-centered mindfulness regardless of what your family experience has been up until now. Over the years, I have had the honor of teaching hundreds of parents how to live naturally, parent mindfully and build secure attachments with their children.
Growing up on an organic family farm in Pennsylvania, gave me a profound understanding of our interconnectedness with nature and each other. I learned that we really “are what we eat” and what we put in or on our bodies, in general. Because whatever we put in or on our bodies becomes a part of us (physically & energetically) and how things are grown and produced affects our mental wellness and overall health. This was the seed of how I became a Real Food, Clean Beauty, Green Home and Natural Health & Living advocate. Through the years, this interest has grown into helping many clients to understand the relationship between food and their mood. And also how environmental toxins can harm their health.
Ever since I can remember, I have been seeking answers to the questions: “Who are we?” and “Why are we here?” And I have always been motivated to “crack the code” of healing and to offer a compassionate ear to those in need of comfort. Much of my life, as a result, has been devoted to studying all facets and modalities of healing. In addition, understanding the human psyche has been a lifelong quest (psyche is translated as “soul” from its Greek origin).
As a “midwife of the soul,” so to speak, I support others in healing transformation and growth by showing them how to mindfully access their own inner wisdom. I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and a practicing Zen Mommy of a gifted, Autistic child. Humbled and inspired by my own journey of parenting, I have experienced that this road can lead to many teachable moments, joy, and wonderment.
And I have seen that it sometimes leads to stressful situations and challenges. When this happens, mindfulness is key to finding balance, a sense of humor and compassion for ourselves and others. But no matter where the road leads us, moment to moment, I have discovered that the best map takes us to a place of greater connection with ourselves, our families and the essence of life all around us. With all this in mind, I developed The Zen Mommy M.A.P (Mindful Attachment Parenting) to be your Ultimate Parenting Guide.
My education includes a B.S. in Psychology and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology, with a specialization in Spiritual Psychology. Also, I received extensive training in Infant-Parent Mental Health, Early Childhood Development, Reflective Parenting, Attachment Disorders and Mindful Parenting. After hanging up my counseling “shingle” in private practice, I progressed to supervising other therapists who were working with families with children with Autism and other special needs.
Some other areas of specialization include Family Systems, ADHD, Autism, Addiction/Substance Abuse, Body Image/Eating Disorders, Depression, Anxiety and healing from abuse and trauma. And I use a holistic approach that is also based upon my background in mindfulness meditation, yoga instruction, energy psychology certification and massage therapy.
My own story of learning about natural healing started when I was put on antidepressants at 17 years old and had an adverse reaction. This led to many years of studying safe, natural ways to address mental wellness & optimal health. Most importantly, I have found that in order to heal the root cause of something, it is necessary to address it on all levels. Because we are multidimensional beings. And trying to just treat symptoms, instead of looking at root causes is like playing “whack a mole” with your life. In comparison, my approach empowers you with the chance to live it healthy, whole and free.
I have helped so many families to know “when to use what” to achieve their natural living, mental wellness and relationship goals. Seeing them thrive is the greatest reward! Because the various communications I regularly receive about client “wins,” family health & harmony and expressions of gratitude keep me going. I would be honored to show you how mindfully treating the whole picture of health gets you and your family the best results.

I stand firm in the understanding that nothing is inherently incurable and that we are indeed the writers of our own lives.
With a background in biomedical and chemical engineering and a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso (her hometown) Brooke Adams has long been intrigued by the science of “how things work” and how what we know about bio-sciences affect our day-to-day application in the fields of health and wellness.
After studying under the W.M. Keck Border Biomedical Research Program in collaboration with Stanford University, Ms. Adams further delved into these unique relationships between various chemical and energetic factors on the human body (from both a macro and cellular perspective).
It was here that she discovered some of her most fascinating revelations into the worlds of bio-physics, cellular vitality and cancer research and the intricate ways in which they coincide — information that would prove quite useful many years down the road.
Brooke’s love for learning and self-discovery continued as she embarked on a new life as a married graduate eager to explore the city of Los Angeles with her husband Rob… who had just recently returned from two long Army “tours” in the Middle-East.
Her childhood love for music paired with a newfound appreciation for sound engineering seemed to integrate her various interests, leading her down a vibrant path of experience into the infamously intricate “music business” and a creative career in song-writing and music supervision (a job in which one curates music for an array of audio-visual outlets from commercials to television to film).
Years later (and a few children later), Ms. Adams found herself completely immersed in and enamored by a scope of seemingly unrelated yet quite interwoven fields of study: energy-related and sound-based healing, biomechanics, Reiki and Prana protocols, “epi-genetics,” and DNA-based research into the human genome.
It was then, that she truly found excitement in connecting these proverbial dots and began sharing her findings with colleagues, friends — and eventually clients. Brooke had a sort of “ah-hah” moment when she decided to team-up with her good friend and fellow “information-seeking mom” who had also done years of academic and lay research into many similar fields — Molly Rose Holmes.
It was then that Zen Mommy Organics was thoroughly incubated — and finally birthed.
Brooke thrives on helping others and really loves the sharing of new information to facilitate growth and overall wellbeing. She stands firm in the understanding that nothing is inherently incurable and that we are indeed the writers of our own lives. Everything from what we eat, to who we interact with, to what and how we think, and what we allow ourselves to participate in — affects us in some way. The sooner we become conscious of this and how we interact with our inner and outer choices, relationships, and environment — our lives can begin to change remarkably for the better. Brooke aims to focus on applicable ways to improve one’s daily life, health, and vitality regardless of age or background. From learning the simple (yet powerful) art of meditation and mindfulness, to improving your fitness and flexibility, to learning how to shop for, grow, blend and cook your family wholesome REAL food that resonates with optimal health — Brooke is well-versed in a plethora of ways to educate, inspire and motivate. At the end of the day, we are all endless “works in progress” and yet “perfectly imperfect” humans experiencing this incredibly colorful life.
Brooke is basically an open book and enjoys engaging on meaningful levels, so reach out and ask her a question!
